How do I turn a storyboard into an AI video?
Write a shot list, generate one key-frame image per panel, then connect each frame to an image-to-video model and assemble the clips in order. On Gulab the storyboard and the video live on the same canvas: each panel is an Image node, each shot is a Video node wired to its panel, and Concat and Export nodes turn them into one film. The canvas assistant can draft the shot-by-shot storyboard for you.
From script to shot list
Start with text. Paste a script or idea into a Text node, or ask the canvas assistant; "a shot-by-shot storyboard" and "a cinematic film from your story" are among its starter ideas. A Generate Text node with a language model can break a scene into shots. A useful shot description has three parts: what the shot is about, the one main camera or subject move, and the action. Every account also comes with a Seedance shot-planning skill that covers routes, storyboards, continuity and end states.
From shot list to storyboard panels
- Create one Image node per panel and arrange them left to right. Label scenes with Heading nodes and box sequences with Zone nodes.
- Wire your character and location references (or Elements) into each panel and @-tag them in the prompt so faces and sets stay consistent.
- Pick the model. Fast, cheap drafts: Kling Image v3 ($0.034), Seedream v4 ($0.036). Final-quality boards: Nano Banana Pro ($0.180), Seedream 5.0 Pro, GPT Image 2.0 ($0.063), FLUX 3.
- Review the board as a whole before animating. A storyboard that reads clearly as stills will usually cut together as video.
From panels to motion
Connect each panel to a Video node. The panel becomes the first frame, and the prompt describes only what moves. For cuts that must match exactly, use first and last frame mode: wire panel N as the start and panel N+1 as the end on a model that supports it (Kling V3 Pro, Veo 3.1). Within a continuous scene, an even more reliable trick is to start each shot from the real last frame of the previous clip instead of a drawn panel, so action carries through the cut.

Already have footage? Go the other way
The Scenes node breaks an existing video into editable scenes, each with a title, prompt, timing, style, camera movement and a captured frame. That is useful for studying a reference edit or remaking a sequence in a new style: break it down, swap the frames for your own panels, then animate.
Assemble the cut
Wire the finished clips into Concat in story order, use Crossfade where a hard cut is too abrupt, add music and effects through Audio Mix, titles with Text Overlay, then Export. Because every clip is still connected to its panel, swapping one weak shot means regenerating one node, not starting over.
Pricing
Gulab bills per generation from a credit balance. Plans are Solo Producer ($10/month, ₹799), AI Era Creator ($20/month, ₹1,599) and Full Studio ($50/month, ₹3,999). Every plan includes every model, with no model-gating. Unused credits from a monthly plan roll over for up to 60 days, and top-up credits (available to subscribers) last until used.
FAQ
Can AI generate a storyboard from a script?
Yes. On Gulab the canvas assistant or a Generate Text node can split a script into a shot list, and Image nodes turn each shot into a storyboard panel using your character and location references.
How do I animate storyboard frames?
Connect each panel image to a Video node. The image becomes the first frame and the prompt describes the motion. Models with first and last frame support, like Kling V3 Pro and Veo 3.1, can animate between two panels.
Which model is cheapest for storyboard drafts?
On the October 2026 pricing page, Kling Image v3 is $0.034 per image and FLUX Schnell $0.004. For video drafts, Seedance 2.0 Fast at 480p is $0.35 per 5-second clip.
Can I storyboard from an existing video?
Yes. The Scenes node breaks a video into editable scenes with a frame, prompt, timing and camera movement for each.
Can I edit the final video on the same canvas?
Yes. Concat, Crossfade, Overlay, Text Overlay, Audio Mix and Export nodes assemble the film without leaving Gulab.
