How do I turn an image into a video with AI?

Connect the image to a video model as the first frame and describe only what should move: the subject's action and the camera. On Gulab you drop the image on the canvas, wire it into a Video node, pick a model such as Seedance 2.0, Kling V3, Veo 3.1 or Hailuo 03, and run it. Five-second clips start at $0.19 on the October 2026 pricing page.

Step by step

  1. Bring in the image. Upload it with an Image node, generate one there, pull references with Inspiration, or extract images from a web page with URL Images.
  2. Add a Video node and draw an edge from the image to it. The image becomes the first frame.
  3. Write a motion prompt. Describe what changes, not what is already in the picture: "she turns toward the window, slow push-in, curtains moving in the wind". One main move per shot works better than several.
  4. Pick the model, duration and resolution in the node, check the cost shown on the node, and run.
  5. Refine. Upscale with Video Upscale (Topaz), extend, lip-sync with Voice Sync, or cut several clips together with Concat and Export.

First and last frame

If you know where a shot must end, give the model both ends. Set a start and an end image in the Video node's frame slots and models with first and last frame support (Kling V3 Pro, Veo 3.1) will move between them. Not every model can: Kling V3 Turbo cannot use an end frame, and Gulab says so and switches that run to Kling V3 Pro. Reference-mode models use a last-frame image as an extra reference instead, and the node tells you when that happens. A missing start image fails fast with no charge.

Pricing

Gulab bills per generation from a credit balance. Plans are Solo Producer ($10/month, ₹799), AI Era Creator ($20/month, ₹1,599) and Full Studio ($50/month, ₹3,999). Every plan includes every model, with no model-gating. Unused credits from a monthly plan roll over for up to 60 days, and top-up credits (available to subscribers) last until used.

FAQ

What is the best AI model for image to video?

It depends on the shot. On Gulab, Kling V3 Pro and Veo 3.1 are strong for controlled shots with first and last frames, Seedance 2.0 and 2.5 for dynamic motion and references, Hailuo 03 for 2K with audio, and LTX 2.3 Fast or Seedance 2.0 Fast for cheap drafts. You can run the same image through several and compare side by side.

How much does image to video cost?

From $0.19 for a 5-second clip (Grok Imagine V1.5 Lite at 720p) up to $4.85 for Seedance 2.0 at 4K, per the October 2026 pricing page. You pay per generation.

Can I set both the start and end frame?

Yes, on models that support it, such as Kling V3 Pro and Veo 3.1. Gulab warns you and adapts when a model cannot use an end frame.

Can I make a photo talk?

Yes. Hailuo 03 Max Lip Sync animates a still photo from 5 to 15 seconds of audio, and the Voice Sync node lip-syncs audio to existing video.

Do I need a subscription?

Generations are paid from credits on a monthly plan starting at $10. Every plan includes every model.
